As an engineering subcontractor to Inmarsat, PGA Engineers provided project engineering for: Distributed Satellite Entertainment Television (ETV) System, Person on Board (PoB) Mustering and Digital Video Systems. Additionally, PGA is providing engineering support for the following systems: C and KU Band Stabilized Satellite System, Paging and General Alarm (PAGA) systems, Automatic Weather Observation System (AWOS), Underwater Sonar security systems, Fiber Backbone and Structured Cabling, Radio Systems: UHF Platform Radio System, Hull UHF RF Distribution System, VHF Marine Radio System, VHF Aeronautical Radio System, Business Local Area Network (BLAN) and Wireless LAN (WLAN), Satellite Phone System (Iridium), Radar / AIS / RACON – CARS, Telemetry System, Terrestrial Microwave and subsea fiber optic distribution, Antenna masts, supports, and tower construction. All systems are engineered to be used in safe or hazardous areas in accordance with the National Electric (NEC) Code hazardous area classification requirements. When complete, the Jack and St. Malo fields will be in water at depths of 7,000 feet. The initial development of the project will require an investment of approximately $7.5 billion. JSM successfully sailed away in November 2013. Currently, Jack & St. Malo has the world’s largest semisubmersible offshore platform hull and is in the deepest rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
