Lone Star Community College enrolls over 95,000 students per year across 7 campuses, more than 80 buildings, and is the largest higher education institution in Texas in terms of enrollment. As a sub-consultant to TRC, PGA provided a professional survey of all campuses, building, and parking facilities across the entire system. The systems surveyed included access control, digital video surveillance, fire alarm, mass notification and subsystems such as data centers, IDF/MDF rooms, Fiber Optic Infrastructure, LAN, and WAN. Survey documents were analyzed, and narratives developed for each system surveyed to be used for developing a Security Master Plan, Gap Analysis, and Implementation Plans for system improvements. Technology and Security improvements across all campuses are currently in construction based on recommendations from the design team. PGA is performing telecommunications and security design, constructability reviews, construction administration, and acceptance testing.
